AILYN RAMOS
Actress & Handbalancer
About Me.
I'm Ailyn and I'm a graduate in Theatre, which has been the foundation of my artistic journey. My exploration of the performing arts began through the rhythmic and expressive movements of capoeira.
As I delved deeper into the world of theatre, I found my passion for physical expression, paving the way for my exploration into the fields of physical theatre, mask work, and clowning.
One of my enduring loves is the practice and teaching of handbalance. It's more than just a physical activity for me; it's a deep commitment to truly understanding and connecting with my body.
In the realm of theatre, I find immense joy in uncovering new characters and immersing myself in their unique physicalities. It's a process of discovery, where each movement, gesture, and expression contributes to the rich tapestry of a character's story.
I have developed two theatre solos, and whenever the opportunity arises, I take the stage to bring these characters to life, inviting audiences into the world I've crafted through months of research.

LIVING ROOM TALES
"Living Room Tales" is an inventive social theatre project. This initiative focuses on creating an intimate and immersive experience by bringing talented and diverse artists directly into the living rooms of families residing in peripheral households. The project aims to bridge the gap between traditional theatre and local communities by fostering community bonds in the comfort of one's home. Instead of traditional stages, performances take place in the cozy setting of family living rooms, creating a personal and inviting atmosphere. The close proximity between performers and the audience enhances the immersive nature of the theatrical experience.

Handbalance
& Movement
Handbalancing has taught me the value of presence and consistency. While this discipline is undoubtedly challenging, the sense of harmony it brings is incredibly rewarding.
Now, as I guide beginners in the art of handstands, my emphasis goes beyond the physical skill. It involves facilitating an understanding of balance, concentration, and uncovering the unique beauty inherent in
self-discovery through this discipline.
This journey isn't a quick sprint towards an end goal but rather a continuous process of growth. In order to refine my teaching methods, I collaborated with professionals such as physiotherapists, physics teachers, and fellow handbalancers to ensure I provide the best guidance possible.

PRIVATE LESSONS
HANDBALANCE
In the one-on-one handstand sessions, we will begin with an assessment to determine your level. We will discuss injury prevention and tailor a plan based on your needs. Generally, we start by focusing on strength, flexibility, and line work. As you progress, we will further develop your upside-down endurance and balance.
The sessions are 1 hour and 20 minutes long.
BODY EXPRESSION
In the Body Expression private sessions, we will begin with a conversation to understand your goals. I work with actors seeking tools to enhance their expressive skills for specific projects, as well as individuals interested in feeling more liberated and in control of their bodies.
I incorporate capoeira movements, animal work, theatre mask tools, and even clowning exercises to provide you with tools to connect with your body and expressiveness.
Throughout the class, we will engage in discussions about discoveries, challenges, and create dynamics to help you connect with yourself in an enjoyable manner.

WORKSHOPS
HANDBALANCE
In the handstand workshops, we begin by assessing everyone's levels and potential physical limitations. The workshop typically lasts 2 to 3 hours, depending on the number of participants.
We begin with a warm-up and stretching before diving into the Russian technique of handbalancing using Inbalance's Methodology, which is a proven and secure approach for adults.
Our priority is to ensure everyone's well-being, so we practice safety measures such as bailing methods and assisted drills before progressing to upside-down positions. The workshop gradually guides participants through the steps, allowing them to experience and try out handstands along the way. This session is tailored for both beginners and those at intermediate level.
BODY EXPRESSION & MOVEMENT
In the movement class, we'll tap into our body's intuition to move and explore connections with the space and others. By incorporating capoeira, animal movements, and movement research, we will discover new ways to connect with music and engage in a dynamic exchange with one another.
